Controlled Collapse

Years of experience backed by expert calculations resulted in the successful controlled collapse of the 800 tonnes Dry Fines Plant illustrated below.

After examining the structural drawings and carrying out a survey, specific members were marked for pre-weakening. The structural engineers calculations confirmed that the remaining structure would remain stable before the members were cut in the planned sequence.

From a safe distance the support legs were pulled out to bring about a controlled collapse.

The twisted metal was then processed for commercial disposal using both oxy-propane cutting equipment and excavator mounted hydraulic rotating shears.
