Frank Holmes of Gambit Corporate Finance has been crowned Dealmaker of the Year at the Wales Dealmakers Awards 2017, picking up the glassware for the third time after previous wins in 2007 and 2013. Wales Business Insider editor Douglas Friedli said the record number of entries had allayed concerns that the Brexit vote would stifle activity in the dealmaking sector.

Hosted at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff and compèred by TV and radio presenter Colin Murray, the event attracted more than 250 of the country's top dealmakers.

The event was sponsored by Berry Smith, Broomfield and Alexander, Capital Law, Darwin Gray, Finance Wales, Greenaway Scott, Shawbrook Bank and TSR Legal, while Bibby Financial Services, Lexington Corporate Finance and Cuddy Group sponsored the drinks reception, networking booklets and business card draw respectively.
