Cuddy staff dig deep for Miners’ appeal fund

Cuddy Group employees have shown their charitable side this Christmas, by each donating a small proportion of their wage to support the Swansea Valley Miners Appeal Fund.
Cuddy Group managing director Mike Cuddy welcomed Fund founder Peter Hain MP to Cuddy’s headquarters today (Friday 16th December), so that he could hand over a cheque for the sum of £2,500.
Mike Cuddy explained: “The miners’ tragedy had a significant impact on the whole community and will never be forgotten. When we spoke about making a donation to the Fund, it was something that our entire workforce supported wholeheartedly. I think everyone felt it was incredibly important to try to help the families affected by this devastating accident, so our directors, managers, site operatives and office staff alike were only too happy to contribute to the overall donation.
“It was a pleasure to invite Peter Hain to our offices to receive the cheque and I hope that people will continue to support this extremely valuable charity.”
Cuddy Group has very recently established a charitable trust which will be helping a number of local causes throughout 2012. Passionate believers in playing an active part in the community, the company sees the formation of the Cuddy Charitable Trust as a logical next step.
Mike Cuddy concludes: “We have all worked very hard to make the company a success and are now in the fortunate position to be able to give assistance where it’s needed.”
