Facilities which are no longer needed cannot always be simply knocked down. First, hazardous materials, equipment and structures need to be cleaned, secured or removed by specialists, with safety the number one priority.
To successfully undertake a decommissioning project, you have to trust that your contractor has the experience and the professionalism to take every precaution, consider every angle and meticulously plan every aspect of the project. Our teams have experience on decommissioning projects as varied as pharmaceutical plants, oil rigs and nuclear power stations, and it's this experience and expertise that means you can trust Cuddy Group to get the job done safely, and in the most cost-effective way possible.

Our controlled decommissioning process may involve:
. Careful dismantling of structures, plant and equipment to ensure the inherent value of component parts can be realised (often the cost of decommissioning can be offset from the sale of site-won assets).
. Using our industry knowledge and position to negotiate the re-sale of recovered plant and equipment via our established network of buyers, at the best price for you.
. The use of reverse engineering to deconstruct structures in a way which enables them to be rebuilt at another location.
. The decontamination of the site and equipment to enable safe re-use and re-sale.
All this is done by our in-house teams, so quality control, regulatory compliance and health and safety are guaranteed.

Third Mammoth Contract Win for Cuddy

Coal-fired Aberthaw – which produces approximately one third of the electricity output for Wales – faced closure because of its high sulphur dioxide emissions. But it is now being given a new lease of life through the installation of flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) technology. This will enable it to reduce emissions, in alignment with new European environmental regulations. |
